Checking Your Device’s UPP Version

When setting up your Lane 3000 device, make sure that the Unified Payment Platform (UPP) of your device is on the Version 6.71.00-0150 or higher.


Configuring the Lane 3000 for Ethernet Connectivity

To access the configuration screen on the main screen of the device, follow these steps:

  • Connect the device to LAN with the Ethernet/power cable. Plug the power adapter in. Once powered on, the Lane 3000 will boot up
  • Press the buttons in order of 2-6-3-4.
  • Press the F button.
  • Select Tetra Admin.
  • Select Configure Ethernet.
  • Select IP Configuration.
  • Enter the Ethernet Configuration menu.

Once you are at the Ethernet Configuration interface, ensure that the following settings are configured:

  • DHCP is set to off.
  • The IP Address is entered matching the sticker on the side of your device.
    • For example, this may look something like “192.168.22.221”.
  • Subnet mask is entered as 255.255.255.0.
  • Gateway address is entered as 192.168.22.1.
  • DNS 1 address is entered as 8.8.8.8.
  • DNS 2 address is entered as 8.8.4.4.
  • Port is set to 12000.
 

NOTE: If you use your own custom network, please be aware that the fields above may change, or if you are experiencing any difficulties in configuring your device(s), we recommend that you contact our Technical Support at 415-744-1433, ext. 2, option 1 to assist in getting the device(s) configured.


Configuring the Link 2500 for Wi-Fi Connectivity

To access the configuration screen on the main screen of the device, follow these steps:

  • Power on the device by holding down the Green button.
  • Press the buttons in order of 2-6-3-4.
  • Press the F button.
  • Select Tetra Admin.
  • Select Configure Wi-Fi.
  • Select 1-Enable.
    • Once enabled, the field will display 1-Disable suggesting that Wi-Fi has been enabled. If 1-Disable is selected again, the Wi-Fi functionality will be disabled.
  • Select Scan Networks.
  • Select your network from the list of the available networks.
  • Add your network password and press OK.
    • Your chosen network will be shown under the My Networks section.

To configure any IP settings, follow these steps:

  • Press the buttons in order of 2-6-3-4.
  • Press the F button.
  • Select Tetra Admin.
  • Select Configure WiFi.
  • Select Default IP Configuration.
  • Enter the WiFi Configuration menu.

Once you are at the Ethernet Configuration interface, ensure that the following settings are configured:

  • DHCP is set to off.

Configuring the Link 2500 for Bluetooth Connectivity

Prior to configuring Bluetooth connectivity, ensure that your iPad has Bluetooth enabled.

To access the configuration screen on the main screen of the device, follow these steps:

  • Power on the device by holding down the Green button.
  • Press the buttons in order of 2-6-3-4.
  • Press the F button.
  • Select Tetra Admin.
  • Select Configure Bluetooth.
    • If Wi-Fi is connected, it will need to be disabled prior to configuring the bluetooth connectivity. Steps on how to disable/enable Wi-Fi can be found under step 3.
  • Select Switch on.
  • Select Phone Pairing.
    • The Link 2500 will display your device’s name.
  • Under your iPad’s Bluetooth setting, a list of devices will be displayed.
  • Select the device on the iPad, and select Pair.
  • Confirm the linking on the Link 2500 by pressing the Green Button.
  • Your device should now be connected to the iPad.
 

NOTE: Should you experience any difficulties with connecting your Link 2500 device via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, we recommend that you contact our Technical Support at 415-744-1433, ext. 2, option 1 to assist in getting the device(s) configured.


Adjusting the Device’s Backlight Brightness

To adjust the device’s backlight brightness, follow these steps:

  • On the main menu, press the buttons in order of 2-6-3-4.
  • Press the F button.
  • Navigate to Terminal Settings.
  • Select ECO mode.
  • Select Backlight.
  • Select Normal / Low Level.
    • Adjust the slider as necessary.

 


Errors

If you are experiencing connectivity issues, make sure your internet connection is stable as internet connection is required for the devices to function properly.

If you see the logo 'TriPOS' on the card reader, this means the device is not initialized. Please restart the card reader and/or iPad. The device may check that your device is up-to-date and you should then see your DBA name.

If there is a card being declined, please refer to the declined payment receipt and check if there is a response code which would explain why the card is being declined. If you continue to experience these issues, please contact us.

If your Revel App is crashing, or the card reader/Revel App is stuck when attempting to complete a transaction, please contact us to further investigate.

If you continue to experience any other errors on the device, such as error codes, connection failures or you are unable to access some functionality, please contact our Support team so we may assist you further.
